Lexington police have released surveillance photos of a man and woman thought to have charged thousands of dollars on stolen credit cards over the weekend.

Police were notified by two victims that their wallets had been stolen in two separate incidents Sunday, Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.

Both victims had been downtown Sunday, but neither apparently knew exactly when or where their wallets had been taken.

One victim was called by her credit card company after the purchases were made, Roberts said. The second victim was looking in her purse for her cell phone when she noticed her wallet had been taken.

Anyone with information about the thefts or the identities of the people in the photos are asked to call the Division of Police at (859) 258-3600 or (859) 258-3700, or Bluegrass Crime Stoppers at (859) 253-2020.
