Charles J. Ringo of Lexington pleaded not guilty Thursday in Fayette Circuit Court to six charges stemming from a September trash fire that got out of hand.
A Fayette County grand jury indicted Ringo, 26, on Nov. 10 on one count of third-degree arson, a felony; four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, a felony; and one count of violating a local burning ordinance.
According to court records, Ringo was burning trash in a metal drum outside his mobile home at an Eastland Drive mobile home park, and the fire spread to a nearby trailer. Rather than alert occupants of the trailer or call authorities for help, Ringo allegedly fled. A man, woman and two small children living in the mobile home were displaced.
