Georgetown man pleads not guilty to 296 counts of sodomy

A Georgetown man pleaded not guilty Thursday in Scott District Court to 296 counts of second-degree sodomy, officials said.

Currie Pat Clark Jr., 58, turned himself in to the Scott County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday after a warrant was issued for arrest, Georgetown police Lt. Robert Swanigan said.

Clark is accused of engaging in deviant sexual behavior with a young boy from 2006 to 2008, Swanigan said. The boy was 12 when the incident first occurred, he said.

Clark was being held at the Scott County jail Thursday on a $20,000 full cash bond or a $40,000 property bond. He was scheduled to return to court on Dec. 9.
