Franklin woman assaulted, bound and robbed

A Franklin County woman was assaulted, bound with duct tape and robbed Thursday night.

Shortly before 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Franklin County deputy sheriffs were sent to a home on Manley Leestown Road on a report of a burglary.

The woman said three men wearing masks and armed with handguns entered her home and demanded her purse. When she did not comply immediately, one man fired a shot into the floor.

The men assaulted the woman, bound her with duct tape and then left with her purse and cell phone, Franklin County Sheriff Pat Melton said in a news release.

The first assailant was described as a white male about 6 feet tall with an "abnormal left eye," the news release said. He wore a black-and-gray checkered, flannel jacket and blue jeans.

The second man was described as a light-skinned black male with a small build.

The third assailant was described as a light-skinned black male about 5-feet-8 wearing a black flannel jacket and dark pants.
