A Laurel County woman was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor Thursday after she lost control of her vehicle and it flipped with her children, ages 3 and 9, inside, according to the sheriff's office.
Deanna Johnson, 30, also faces charges of driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident and possession of marijuana, said a news release from the Laurel County Sheriff's Department.
Shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday, Johnson was driving a 2006 Dodge Stratus on Ky. 80 when it went out of control and flipped about five miles east of London.
Johnson apparently called someone to pick her up and left the scene in a friend's vehicle. Laurel Sheriff's Sgt. Greg Poynter stopped that vehicle about a mile from the accident.
