Montgomery County couple is indicted on incest charges

A Montgomery County man has been indicted on 29 counts of incest and other sexual crimes, and his wife has been indicted for incest as well.

Charles Williams, 62, of Jeffersonville, was arrested Friday after a Montgomery County grand jury returned indictments against him for incest, complicity to commit incest, first-degree sexual abuse, first-degree sodomy, first-degree rape and third-degree rape.

Williams' wife, Linda Sue Williams, 60, was indicted on two counts of incest.

State police began investigating after "a juvenile made allegations of sexual abuse to a family member. Multiple victims then came forward with further allegations," according to a news release from state police.

The alleged abuse occurred between 1973 and 2010, state police said.

Charles Williams was being held in the Montgomery County Jail on Tuesday night on $10,000 full cash bond; Linda Sue Williams was released on $10,000 full cash bond on Tuesday, a jail employee said.
