Lexington police officer involved in dispute; shots are fired

A woman was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment after police say she fired a gun during a domestic dispute with an off-duty Lexington police officer Wednesday.

The officer was not hit when police say Erin Davis, 45, fired a .22-caliber handgun inside a home at 7015 Old Richmond Road.

Commander Robert Stack said the officer and the woman were not husband and wife. The off-duty officer does not live at the address. Police have not identified the officer or further clarified the relationship between he and Davis.

Stack said the officer and another person came to the home to pick up some personal property. After some sort of dispute, the woman fired two shots, he said.

The officer called police about 3:20 p.m. Stack said the officer was the victim in this case.
