Nicholasville man sentenced in child porn case

A Nicholasville man was sentenced Wednesday to 188 months in prison on federal child pornography charges, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Kentucky.

Robert Allen Walker, 41, accepted a plea agreement and admitted he downloaded child porn from November 2009 to April 2010 using a file-sharing program called Frostwire, according to a news release. After obtaining a search warrant in April, law enforcement officials found 1,777 photographs and 59 videos of child porn, including images of children younger than 12, on a computer in Walker's home.

Under federal law, Walker must serve at least 85 percent of his prison sentence. He will remain under the supervision of the U.S. Probation Office for life.
