Police investigate robbery at Lexington Jimmy John's

Lexington police are investigating a robbery at a Lexington sandwich restaurant Thursday night.

The robber was given an undisclosed amount of money after he walked into the Jimmy John's on Maple Leaf Drive about 9 p.m. and implied he had a weapon.

He then fled toward the rear of the business, Lt. Scott Blakely said. Officers with dogs were called to the scene, but they were unable to follow his trail. Officers had called off the search at 10 p.m., Blakely said.

The man was wearing all black clothes and a face mask. He is estimated to be around 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call Lexington police at (859) 258-3600.
