Man robbed Lexington gas station with butcher knife

Police are looking for a man who robbed a Lexington gas station with a butcher knife early Thursday.

Investigators released surveillance photos with hopes that someone might recognize the masked man who pulled off the heist.

The robbery occurred at 4:34 a.m. A 6-foot-2 and 180 pound white man in his 20's entered the Shell at 4201 Saron Drive and demanded cash from the clerk, who had been working alone. The man, who was wearing a black mask, a blue long sleeve shirt with white stripes on the sleeves, black gloves and jeans, fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No customers were in the store. The clerk was not injured.
