A mistrial was declared this week in Fayette Circuit Court in the case of Carlos Antonio Taylor of Nicholasville, who was accused of killing Carlos Gudoy of Georgetown just over a year ago.
Judge Ernesto Scorsone declared a mistrial on the second day of the trial after a juror became ill. The previous day, an alternate juror informed the court that he knew the family of one of the two men, Assistant Fayette Commonwealth's Attorney Dan Laren said.
Gudoy, 24, was shot in the abdomen outside Larkin Apartments in Lexington on Jan. 25, 2010. Police have said the shooting occurred during a drug deal. Taylor was 18 at the time of the incident.
