Former teacher pleads not guilty to child sex-solicitation charges

A former Florida teacher pleaded not guilty to charges that he traveled to Kentucky intending to meet a child for sex.

Dale Chisena Sr., a retired second-grade teacher in Orange County, Fla., appeared in Franklin County District Court Monday morning. He is accused of flying to Lexington to meet an undercover officer who posed online as a minor. Chisena is charged with four counts of unlawful use of an electronic device to solicit a minor for prohibited activity, a Class D felony.

At the time of his arrest, Chisena was awaiting trial in Florida on two counts of possessing child pornography. He had been released after posting a $60,000 bond, according to news release from the Attorney General's Cybercrimes unit.

Chisena was placed on home confinement and ordered to have no contact with children before he bought an airline ticket to Lexington, according to the news release.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 15.
