Georgetown woman received probation in abuse case

A Central Kentucky mother has received probation on misdemeanor assault and criminal abuse charges in child abuse case, according to Scott District Court records.

Tammy T. Nava, 41, of Georgetown, was arrested in January 2010 at her home on Cumberland Drive on warrants stemming from six criminal complaints of brutal beatings from 2007-09 involving her six children ages 6-16.

She was charged with felonies, but a grand jury amended the charges to misdemeanors.

Last month, Nava pleaded guilty to the amended charges and received probation, according to court records.
