Worker tied up with duct tape during Lexington robbery

Lexington police are searching for the man who used duct tape on a woman as he robbed a beauty supply store at Hamburg Pavilion Sunday afternoon.

A woman was opening Sally's Beauty Supply at 2160 Sir Barton Way about noon Sunday when a man forced her to the back of the store and used duct tape to bind her hands and feet, Lexington police Lt. David Marcum said.

The man then took cash from a safe and left the store.

The employee, who was not seriously injured, described the man as white, about 6-foot-2 and about 225 pounds, police said. He was wearing a black hooded shirt and black sweatpants.

Anyone with information about the robbery should contact Lexington police at (859) 258-3700.
