Man charged in fatal stabbing pleads guilty to second-degree manslaughter

Rio D'Marcus Brown, charged in the fatal stabbing of another man in May 2010, has pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter.

Brown, who was charged initially with murder, is accused of stabbing Christopher Brogli, 20, on May 27. Investigators have said the men might have been fighting over missing money.

Brown, who was to go on trial Monday in Fayette Circuit Court, entered the guilty plea to second-degree manslaughter last month.

Assistant Fayette Commonwealth's Attorney Todd Bradbury said he recommended that Brown be sentenced to seven years in prison.

Brown is scheduled to be sentenced by Fayette Circuit Judge James Ishmael on June 3.
