A woman who law enforcement officials say was apparently intoxicated was arrested in a Laurel District Court courtroom Tuesday morning.
Kealyn Napier, 42, of London, in court on a pending DUI case, was arrested at 10:30 a.m. after a bailiff noticed that she was "in an apparent intoxicated condition," according to a news release from the Laurel County Sheriff's Department.
She had two large knives and a bottle of "assorted pills" in her purse, and some of the pills were thought to be Xanax and Lyrica, the release said.
Napier was taken to the Laurel County Correctional Center and charged with public intoxication, possession of a controlled substance and controlled substance not in proper container.
