A registered sex offender who lives in Lexington has been arrested on child-pornography charges.
William K. Hainsworth, 36, was arrested Monday by investigators from the state attorney general's cybercrimes unit in conjunction with Lexington police, according to a news release.
Hainsworth faces four felony counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.
During a search of Hainsworth's residence on Northland Drive, investigators found multiple sexually explicit images of children on a computer, the news release stated.

Hainsworth was convicted in 2006 of first-degree attempted sexual abuse. The state sex offender registry says the victim was 3 years old.
Hainsworth pleaded not guilty at arraignment in Fayette District Court on Tuesday, and his next scheduled court appearance is 8:30 a.m. May 13. He was being held in the Fayette County Detention Center on $25,000 cash bond.
