A pedestrian died Friday night after being hit by a car on Nicholasville Road in Lexington, police Lt. Christopher Van Brackel said.
The accident occurred about 9:46 p.m. between Lowry Lane and Zandale Drive. Van Brackel said the pedestrian, a man, did not cross the road in a crosswalk. The man got across one lane of the roadway. As he crossed the second lane, he was struck by a Buick Rendezvous, Van Brackel said.
The man was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:30 p.m.
Van Brackel said it does not appear that the driver, a woman, will face charges. The woman was not injured.
