Man charged with prostitution, public intoxication, receiving stolen property

A man's attempt to trade sexual favors for money left him empty-handed on Monday, police said.

Police arrested Kenneth Payton, 49, at 601 High Street and charged him with second degree promoting prostitution, public intoxication and receiving stolen property, among other charges.

The stolen item turned out to be an adult sex toy taken from Video Max on Winchester Road, Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.

Officers had responded to a complaint that a man was possibly selling drugs and sex in a green mini-van.

Payton was also charged with providing officers with a false name upon arrest.
