A man was found shot outside an apartment building in the 2200 block of Dinsmore Drive just after 8 p.m. Tuesday. Police described his injuries as life-threatening.
Police patrolling the area on Fontaine Drive heard shots and responded to the scene. Witnesses said they saw seven or eight people running away.
Lt. Scott Blakely said an argument apparently took place before the man was shot. The man, who has not been identified, was taken to the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.
Blakely said the victim was conscious when he was taken to the hospital, but said he "wasn't very cooperative."

He said police are in the process of questioning people, some of whom voluntarily agreed to be taken to headquarters. However, Blakely said he was unsure whether those people would be suspects.
No weapon had been recovered from the scene.
