A Lewis County man admitted Monday in federal court that he stole hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of heavy equipment and then sold it.
Steven Savage, 38, pleaded guilty to transporting stolen vehicles in interstate commerce, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Savage admitted that he stole at least 23 pieces of heavy equipment, including trailers and bulldozers, worth about $830,000 in West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky. He took them to Lewis County, where he sold them.
Savage faces up to 10 years in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 12 by Judge David L. Bunning in Ashland.
