Six more arrested in Harlan drug-trafficking case

Police have arrested more people wanted in a yearlong investigation of drug trafficking in the Tri-Cities area of Harlan County, according to Operation UNITE.

A total of 52 people were indicted in the case. Most were from the area of Cumberland, Benham and Lynch.

Officers from UNITE and other agencies began arresting the suspects Monday, and they had found 30 by mid-afternoon.

UNITE announced six more arrests Tuesday, bringing the total to 36. Police are continuing to search for the others charged.
