Laurel mom charged with giving alcohol to teen

A Laurel County woman has been charged with giving her 14-year-old daughter alcohol, according to a news release from Laurel County Sheriff John Root.

Tennille McFarland, 34, of Corbin, is charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and unlawful transaction with a minor.

Sgt. Chuck Johnson investigated at Corbin Manor Apartments after police received a complaint.

He found the girl passed out on a couch in one apartment, and two other girls somewhat intoxicated.

The investigation showed that McFarland had given the girls alcohol, according to the news release.

Johnson found McFarland passed out in another apartment.

Her daughter was taken to Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin for treatment of alcohol poisoning.

The incident happened about 4 a.m. June 10. Root's office issued a news release Monday.
