Laurel man charged with endangering child

A Laurel County man who was drunk while he was supposed to be caring for a 7-year-old girl has been charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, according to a news release from Laurel County Sheriff John Root.

Sgt. Greg Poynter went to investigate after police received a report the man was drunk and urinating in front of the child.

Poynter found Randall C. Wyatt, 31, of East Bernstadt staggering around in the yard. The child was inside the house, where there was a strong smell of marijuana, according to the news release.

Wyatt is charged with alcohol intoxication and endangering the child. Another man at the house, Arthur Bentley, 45, is charged with alcohol intoxication.
