A Russell Springs man died in a single-vehicle crash Monday afternoon.
Stephen A. Withers, 60, was trying to negotiate an S curve on Ky. 1546 in Wayne County at about 3 p.m. when the pickup truck skidded sideways and hit an embankment, said Deputy Coroner Larry West.
Withers, who was not wearing a seat belt, died after he was partially ejected through the passenger's side window. The truck landed on top of him, West said.
"The truck really didn't sustain a lot of damage," West said. "The use of seat belts would have saved this man's life."
