Police have arrested more than 20 people charged in Pulaski County with not paying child support and are searching for others as part of an enforcement roundup, local prosecutors announced.
A total of 44 people were charged. Police from several agencies began arresting them June 16 and have found about half of them, Pulaski County Attorney Martin Hatfield said in a news release Wednesday.
The suspects were charged with flagrant non-support. All were given the opportunity to pay before being charged, but they didn't, Hatfield said.
All of those charged owed at least $1,000 in back child support. One person owed $42,000, according to the release.

One person arrested June 16 quickly posted a bond of more than $7,000, and another posted more than $9,000, which will be applied to their child-support debt, Hatfield said.
Commonwealth's Attorney Eddy Montgomery's office, which prosecutes felony non-support, also took part in the roundup.
