State police have arrested a former Olive Hill resident on rape and other charges involving an underage girl and an underage boy, according to a news release issued Thursday.
Police charged General Jackson Tackett, 42, with rape, three counts of first-degree sodomy and three counts of first-degree sexual abuse.
Police began investigating in May after the two juveniles told social workers that Tackett had sexually abused them over an extended period, according to the news release.
Tackett now lives in Guatemala but returns periodically to Carter County, said state trooper Elliott Gollihue, spokesman for the Ashland state police post.
