MOUNT STERLING — A Montgomery County couple entered guilty pleas Monday to multiple counts of sexual acts with relatives that occurred for more than 37 years.
Charles Williams, 62, of Jeffersonville, who was indicted earlier this year on 29 charges, pleaded guilty to 13 charges, including first-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse and first-degree sodomy. The charges involved acts that occurred between 1973 and 2010, according to the plea agreement.
The sentences for the 13 counts will run concurrently for a total of 20 years in prison. Williams will be eligible for parole after serving 10 years, provided he has completed a treatment program for sexual offenders, Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Autumn Dmytrewycz said.
Williams's wife, Linda Sue Williams, 61, pleaded guilty to two counts of incest. Linda Sue Williams, who now lives in Wolfe County, is expected to plead guilty on Sept. 7 to other felony counts in Powell County, where she was indicted on charges of incest, sodomy and rape, Dmytrewycz said.
The recommended punishment for her, according to the plea agreement, is that the sentences run concurrently for a total of eight years in prison. Linda Sue Williams should be eligible for parole after serving three years, Dmytrewycz said.
The Williamses had been scheduled to go on trial Tuesday in Montgomery Circuit Court.
Linda Sue Williams is free on bond, but her husband remains in the Montgomery County Regional Jail.
The Williamses are both scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 27.
