A Rowan County man has been charged with 10 counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor, a Class D felony.
Shelley Johnson, deputy communications director for the attorney general's cybercrimes unit, said Friday that Justin Holbrook, 21, of Rowan County, was indicted last week on the charges.
He was arrested Wednesday at his residence in Morehead by the Rowan County sheriff's office.
The cybercrimes unit began an undercover investigation in early June and searched Holbrook's home on June 10, Johnson said.
Holbrook, who was enrolled in the Kentucky National Guard, was assigned to the 201st engineering unit out of Ashland, but according to Lt. Col. Kirk Hilbrecht, director of public affairs, Holbrook had not reported for training yet.
Johnson said they believe Holbrook was enrolled at Murray State University.
Holbrook was released from jail after posting a $7,500 full cash bond.
