Police reopen northbound lanes of New Circle near Georgetown Road

Police have reopened northbound lanes of New Circle Road near Georgetown Road that were closed after a school bus crash Monday morning.

No children were on the bus. The driver and the bus monitor have non-life threatening injuries, Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.

It wasn't immediately clear what caused the bus to lose control.

Police say the driver apparently lost control and hit a wall about 8:50 a.m. The bus spun around and ended up partially in a ditch.

Police had closed New Circle Road because the front of the bus was in a ditch. The bus was towed away and police reopened the road about 10:50 a.m.
