A Lexington man was taken to Fayette County jail early Monday after he allegedly cut his roommate with a butcher knife.
Ignacio Ortiz, 60, was charged with second-degree assault.
The victim's injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, police said. Police have not released his identity.
The attack happened at an apartment complex at 1029 Cross Keys Road, Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.

Police were called shortly after 1 a.m. for "a disorder involving a knife," she said.
When officers arrived, they found three people inside: Ortiz, the victim and the victim's girlfriend, who was not identified. The victim told police he and his girlfriend were sleeping when he was awakened by a knock at his bedroom door.
His roommate, Ortiz, "was standing there with a butcher knife, made a threat and proceeded to attack the victim," Roberts said.
Alcohol was thought to be a factor; Ortiz was intoxicated as police were investigating, she said.
