A gunfight that broke out just after midnight Friday damaged two houses and left numerous shell casings on a Lexington street.
Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said Friday morning that police responded to a call of shots fired at 747 Florence Avenue just after midnight.
"They found about two dozen gunshot shell casings in the street," she said.
The casings were two sizes, indicating more than one gun, but Roberts didn't have details on the types of weapons used.
Roberts also said two homes, 747 and 742 Florence Avenue, were damaged.
Limited information was immediately available about whoever fired the shots. "The perpetrators were driving a dark-colored Chevy Impala," Roberts said.
Two people were in one of the houses during the shootout, she said, which means anyone arrested will be charged with two counts of wanton endangerment.
