Kentucky State Police said a man who died in a car wreck in Clay County on Wednesday morning is suspected to have used drugs or alcohol before driving.
John R. Russell, 24, of Lockards Creek was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, about 4 miles south of Manchester. He was not wearing a seat belt, police said in a news release.
Police said Russell was driving a 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass that turned in front of a 2004 Jaguar X-Type driven by Betty Bailey, 58, of Big Creek. The wreck happened about 9:47 a.m. at the intersection of Ky. 149 and US 421.
Bailey, who was wearing a seat belt, was treated for minor injuries at Manchester Memorial Hospital, the release said.
