A woman and her 5-month-old daughter died after the car they were in lost control and went into a creek in Clay County on Wednesday.
The driver, Kimberly Jackson, 27, of Manchester, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her daughter, Gabriella Ramos, was taken to Manchester Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to a news release from state police.
Jackson's boyfriend and Gabriella's father, Rickie Ramos, 27, was able to exit the car. He was not injured, the release said.
The wreck happened about 3:20 p.m. on Ky. 11 South in Clay County near Manchester. Police said the car, a 1994 Toyota Camry, lost control in a curve, travelled over an embankment and came to rest in the creek.

Neither drugs nor alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash. Neither Jackson nor Ramos was wearing seatbelts, the release said. Gabriella was in a child seat.
The crash was the second fatal wreck in Clay County on Wednesday. About 9:30 a.m., John R. Russell, 24, of Lockards Creek died in a two-car crash at the intersection of Ky. 149 and U.S. 421.
