A 26-year-old Harrodsburg man died at Lexington's University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital after a crash in Mercer County on Thanksgiving that also injured three children traveling with him.
Jose Fernando Navarro Menza died late Thursday at the hospital after the 4:25 p.m. accident, according to the Fayette County coroner's office.
The wreck occurred at U.S. 127 and U.S. 68 in Harrodsburg, according to Kentucky State Police. Menza's 2000 Dodge Neon was struck by a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Michele Strunk, 44 of Harrodsburg. Strunk disregarded a traffic light and crashed into the driver's side of Menza's car, police said.
Three children and Elena Francisco-Pascual, 21, of Harrodsburg, all in Menza's car, were taken to the hospital for treatment, as was Strunk. The collision remains under investigation, police said.
