A Barren County man was killed Thursday when his car hit a disabled vehicle in the emergency lane of Interstate 65, state police said.
William C. Ellis, 77, of Park City was driving south on I-65 about 4:07 p.m. when he rear-ended an unoccupied vehicle sitting in the emergency lane.
Emergency personnel had to extricate Ellis from his vehicle. He was flown to the University of Louisville Hospital but died, state police said.
Ellis was alone in his vehicle.
