A Lexington man pleaded guilty Wednesday to distributing child pornography in federal court in Lexington.
William K. Hainsworth, 37, admitted that he shared child pornography files with others via the Internet, according to the office of the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky.
In April, undercover agents searched the Internet for child pornography images available for downloading. The agents found a computer in Lexington with images of prepubescent children engaged in sexually explicit conduct, according to the U.S. attorney's office. There were more than 4,500 images of child pornography found on Hainsworth's computer, the U.S. attorney's office said.
Hainsworth is scheduled to be sentenced on March 15. He faces up to 20 years in prison.
