The mother of an infant girl found dead and burning on top of a baseboard heater in January received a five-year sentence Tuesday in Kenton Circuit Court.

Megin Gray, 26, of Covington is immediately eligible for parole because she gets credit for the 337 days she has already served in jail awaiting for her case to be adjudicated, said her attorney, Jon Alig. Gray pleaded guilty in November to four counts of second-degree criminal abuse.

Gray admitted to being impaired on a cocktail of cocaine, prescription drugs and alcohol when the 9-month-old, Anthia Lattimore, rolled off a bed and became wedged between a mattress and the heater.
