Woman is accused of stealing money from Pulaski school fundraiser

SOMERSET — A Somerset woman is being held in the Pulaski County jail on charges that she stole money intended to go toward an elementary school fundraiser.

Pulaski County Sheriff's deputies arrested Jamie L. Combs, 34, of Somerset, on Friday after a nearly month-long investigation.

According to the Pulaski County Sheriff's department, Combs allegedly obtained and altered checks which had been written to the Pulaski Elementary School fund raiser and cashed the altered checks. The investigation also found that Combs allegedly forged and cashed checks on the closed account of another victims, the department said.

Combs has been charged with three counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument second degree and three counts of being a persistent felony offender. She is in the Pulaski County jail.
