Police investigate robberies in Woodhill area of Lexington

Lexington police were investigating two similar robberies that occurred within half an hour of each other in the Woodhill area on Monday night.

Police were called to 373 Darby Creek Road at 8:28 p.m. after a man and woman reported being robbed by two men at gunpoint. A wallet, purse and cell phone were taken, said Lt. Mark Brand of the Lexington police.

At 8:51 p.m., a man who had been sitting in a car at 321 Christy Allyn Court told police two men with a gun had robbed him of his cell phone and wallet, then run away, Brand said.

Brand said police had canine units at the scene to look for the robbers.

No one was injured in either incident.

Because of the similar descriptions of the robbers and the close proximity of the crimes, "it's pretty logical to assume they're related," Brand said.
