A man and child injured in a Cynthiana house fire that killed a 5-year-old remained in critical condition Thursday morning.
The 5-year-old child was identified as Jacqueline Chesnut by the Harrison County coroner's office. The girl was pronounced dead at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana, Kentucky State Police said.
Terry Chesnut and Rachel Chesnut, 4, were flown to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital for treatment where a spokesperson said as of 6 a.m. Thursday, both were still in critical condition. The fire at 309 Oddville Avenue started shortly before 12 p.m. Wednesday, state police said.
