One Knott County man died in a single-vehicle crash early Wednesday and another was charged with murder as a result, according to a news release from Kentucky State Police.
Donald Combs, 34, of Fisty allegedly was driving while impaired when he lost control of his car, which plunged over an embankment and came to rest on its top in a creek, state police said.
A passenger, Burly R. Combs, 51, also of Fisty, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Donald Combs fled before police arrived and was arrested later at his house, state police said.

He was charged with murder, leaving the scene of an accident, driving under the influence and driving on a license that was suspended because of an earlier impaired-driving conviction, according to the news release.
The wreck happened about 1:10 a.m. on Ky. 2446 in the Lost Creek area of Perry County, state police said.
