A candlelight vigil will be held in the Fayette County courthouse plaza Thursday for a man who was shot to death in a domestic violence attack last week.
Librado Romero's family and friends, along with The Bluegrass Domestic Violence Program, will hold the vigil to celebrate his memory and bring attention to domestic violence.
Edgar Noel Vieyra, 18, the ex-boyfriend of Romero's daughter, was charged with murder and several other charges. Romero's wife and two daughters were also injured when Vieyra allegedly broke into their Wayland Drive home early May 7.
The vigil will begin at 6:30 p.m. in front of the district and circuit courthouses at the corner of East Main Street and South Limestone. Donations are still being accepted by the Brenda D. Cowan Coalition to cover funeral expenses for Romero.
