Two men are indicted on charges of having sexual contact with girl

Two men have been indicted in Fayette Circuit Court on charges of having sexual contact with a girl who was under 12 years old.

Adalberto Morales-Mendez, 34, admitted to police that he had sex with a 10-year-old girl four times between last summer and this March, according to a police citation filed in the case.

He was indicted on four counts of first-degree rape and was being held in the Fayette County Detention Center on $40,000 full cash bond.

Morales-Mendez, whose place of employment is listed as Gainesway Farm, was arrested March 30 at police headquarters.

Joel Martinez-Velazquez, 41, confessed that, about a year and a half ago, when the child was 8 years old, he had "masturbated in front of her and rubbed her buttocks" after she touched his penis, according to a police citation.

He was indicted on one count of first-degree sexual abuse and was being held in the detention center on $5,000 full cash bond.

Martinez-Velazquez was arrested April 9 at police headquarters.
