Laurel County burglar tried to use cab as getaway car, police say

Police quickly nabbed a burglar who called a cab for his getaway in Laurel County on Wednesday, Sheriff John Root said in a news release.

When Deputy James Sizemore went to investigate a report of a burglary in progress at 1 p.m. on Moriah Church Road west of London, he learned the suspect had left in a cab, according to the news release.

Police called the cab company, which confirmed an employee had picked up a man on Moriah Church Road.

Police asked that the cab driver pull over and wait for them. Officers arrested Bradley Hill, 28, of Knox County, on Main Street in London at 1:20 p.m., according to the release.

Hill was charged with burglary and theft.

He is accused of breaking into his estranged wife's home and stealing cash, as well as an $800 laptop that belonged to his estranged sister-in-law.
