Lexington police say they foiled man's plan to rob McDonald's

Lexington police say officers thwarted a man's plan to rob a Lexington McDonald's restaurant.

At 155 a.m. Thursday, police took Mark E. Rouse, 18, into custody outside Kroger's at 4101 Tates Creek Centre, said Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts.

Police came across evidence that Rouse planned to rob the nearby McDonald's so officers were conducting surveillance, Roberts said. Rouse was arrested after he got to the McDonald's, she said.

Roberts said Rouse was charged with attempted robbery. He was at the Fayette County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.
