Driver impairment was suspected in a wreck on Winchester Road that injured three people and closed the road for hours Monday afternoon.
Michael Hicks, of Lexington was driving east on Winchester near North Cleveland Road when his Dodge Stratus apparently crossed the center line and struck a Toyota Tundra, Lexington police said in a news release.
Hicks was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital in serious condition, the release said. Michael A. Roszowski, of Hebron, who was driving the Tundra, and an unidentified passenger were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The news release said Hicks was suspected to be impaired, though it did not specify a substance.

The wreck occurred at 2:08 p.m., the release said. The road was closed through rush hour while police investigated.
