Man is shot in torso at Georgetown Street grocery store; no arrests

No arrests had been made Saturday following a shooting on Georgetown Street that sent a man to the hospital with a bullet wound to the torso Friday night.

Police responded to the parking lot of EZ Stop Groceries on Georgetown Street, near Douglass Park, about 9:25 p.m. Friday after receiving a report about the shooting, Lt. Roger Holland said.

Holland said the victim, who he did not identify, was reportedly in stable condition at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital Saturday.

Police only received a vague description of the shooter. There were reports of a car leaving the scene, but Holland said police think that car belonged to the victim.

Despite canvassing the neighborhood and calling in police dogs, officers had not been able to locate the shooter.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at (859) 258-3600.
