Kentucky State Police and the McCreary County coroner's office are investigating the cause of a fatal traffic crash Monday afternoon involving a 94-year-old man.
William Leo Lynch of Whitley City died in the crash.
The wreck occurred just before 4:30 p.m. Monday on U.S. 27 in the Parkers Lake community, according to state police at London.
Lynch was driving south on U.S. 27 when his red Dodge Caravan crossed the center line and the northbound lane, striking a large tree head-on.

Lynch, who was wearing a seat belt, was alone in the vehicle, state police said. Drug or alcohol use is not suspected.
No autopsy is scheduled, and the exact cause of the crash is pending findings by the coroner, state police said.
