Police are investigating after a groundskeeper found a body in a private fishing lake Saturday.
The body was found floating about 15 feet from the shore at Lake Ellerslie Fishing Club, on Richmond Road across from Jacobson Park, just before 4 p.m., Lexington police Lt. Sam Murdock said.
The body was turned over to the Fayette County coroner's office, and an autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.
Murdock said it was too early to say whether foul play was involved. The cause of death will be determined by an autopsy.

Meanwhile, officers will check for missing-person reports in the area or other evidence that could help them identify the person, Murdock said.
Officers and coroner's officials could not immediately tell whether the body was that of a man or a woman, or determine an approximate age or race.
